Emma Kalff’s work is a distillation of her everyday life after memory, emotion and dreams have had their way with it. Her paintings are a genuine exploration of the beauty and despair of our inner worlds. She paints aspects of ordinary life as a way of giving voice to the unseen emotional world that lies beneath our physical reality.

Gadino is widely recognized for his masterful command of classical technique, which he uses to explore contemporary relevant and queer narratives. Often described as a postmodern descendant of iconic queer art traditions, he builds elaborate sets, costumes, and science-fiction themes to create complex visual stories. His subject matter frequently juxtaposes high and low culture—ranging from celestial retro pin-up girls to reimagined mythological figures.

Simon Dinnerstein is an acclaimed American figurative painter and graphic artist, widely celebrated for his monumental realist masterpiece, The Fulbright Triptych. Born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, in 1943, his work merges strict precision reminiscent of Northern Renaissance art with personal and psychological introspection.

Patricia Schappler creates psychologically complex oil paintings, along with graphite and mixed media drawings. Influenced by Baroque attention to light and form, and Eastern love of pattern, Schappler focuses on the human condition with themes of adolescence, motherhood, and the intimacy of partnerships. Native to New Hampshire, Schappler’s expressive narratives focus on body language and reflect her interest in family through the rituals of home…’across the world our environments from our wall hangings, to the flooring beneath us, to the colors and patterns we wear, become our objects of hope, central to our sense of self, home, and community.’ Through literary nods to biblical, mythical, and personal story, she offers the portrait as an invitation to connected experience.

Elena Caravela, a School of Visual Arts alumna, has exhibited widely and has garnered awards for her painting and portraiture. Examples include a finalist in The Artist’s Magazine 34th Annual Art Competition, NOAPS Online International Exhibitions, Allied Artist of America at Salmagundi Club, Placing in the Portrait Society of America Member’s Competition, Finalist in Art Kudos International Competition, Awards at Ridgewood Art Institute, Women Painting Women juried exhibition, Principal Gallery, and a Solo Exhibition “Girls In Sight” at the Visual Arts Center of NJ.
